President

Emmanuel Artusa-Barrell

A Chevening alumnus 2016 from Argentina, specialises in risk management and socio-political risks in Latin America. He previously worked for embassies as a political and economical advisor and hold degrees from Queen Mary and Leicester Universities.

Myriam Stern

Myriam is a 2011 Chevening alumna from the Dominican Republic (DR); LLM in Intl Financial Law from King's College London. She worked as Comms Director at the British Embassy in the DR and Secretary General of the DR Development & Exports Bank. She's now the Director of Trade at the DR Embassy in the UK

Marijana Zivkovic Mtegha

Former Montenegrin diplomat (2003 - 2018) and Chevening alumna (MA in Diplomatic Studies, University of Westminster, 2006 - 2007). Now UK-based and works as a Strategic Engagement Manager at the Institution for Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH).

Events & Social Media

Matea Krivanek

Matea works as events officer at City, University of London. As a Chevening scholar 2016, she studied for an MA in TESOL at King's College London. She's Bosnian and Croatian. You can find her full CV here

Sureyya Ugurses

Sureyya is a highly respected Turkish Lawyer and a Chevening alumna 1999 with unique local and international Banking and Finance Law experience of 26 years as in-house legal counsel and private practice lawyer. She is the Founder/Director of Lexlegata Consulting Ltd.

CAA Subnetworks Lead

Heba Al Nasser

Specializes in socio-economic solutions, Human Capital Development, Civil Society, and Youth. Global change agent with a Social Policy and Development degree from LSE. Experienced in leading international teams, negotiating with governments, and policy research. She is a Jordanian Chevening alumna 2013.

Ghutai Khuram

A Chevening alumna 2016 from Afghanistan. She hold a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of York, she currently serves as a Lecturer at Global Banking School, affiliated with Oxford Brooks University.

Vanja Kljajevic

A Chevening alumna 2016 from Montenegro. Holds a MSc in Marketing degree from Queen Mary University of London. Currently works as an Associate, SME Finance & Development at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Previously worked as Comms Manager at AmCham Montenegro.

Felix Fomengia

Felix Fomengia is a 2022 Chevening Alumni from Cameroon and holds an MSc in Cybersecurity and Forensics at the University of Westminster. Felix is an innovative tech entrepreneur and innovator, passionate about solving problems around his community using ICT and inspiring and empowering the younger generation.

Technology

Mahmoud Abdelrazek

A data consultant and a Chevening alumnus 2018 from Egypt with experience building databases and data pipelines for complex datasets. Worked with research on computer vision, geospatial, archeology, real estate and natural language processing among other domains.

About the CAA

Since 1983, Chevening Awards have enabled tens of thousands of international scholars and fellows to study in the UK. As of 2023, there are more than 50,000 alumni that make up the Chevening community.

Based in the UK, the Chevening Alumni Alliance (CAA), is composed by a group of dynamic Chevening Alumni and it serves as a networking platform for the aforementioned Chevening Alumni community. CAA membership is open to all Chevening Alumni in the UK, wherever they are based. The board members are all volunteers offering their professional services on a pro bono basis.

The CAA aims to keep the Chevening community active and connected. In that regard:

We aim to connect and coordinate initiatives with all the Chevening Alumni Associations worldwide, creating important opportunities between us.
We act as a channel between the country associations and the Chevening Secretariat, aligning our ideas into a clear vision as to what is Chevening alumni and its potential globally.
We continue to promote Chevening internationally via the numerous Chevening alumni that have joined the CAA and that come from different backgrounds, careers and Chevening years.
We develop projects to further enhance the Chevening brand and highlight the Chevening community’s success.
We host exclusive networking events for the Chevening Community, both in-person and on-line.

The CAA’s mission is to serve as a strategic international coordinating hub that INSPIRES, INFLUENCES, INNOVATES & LEADS the global Chevening Alumni leveraging their UK experience and networks.

For the Chevening Program, its importance and impact
For Cheveners, their knowledge and capabilities and impact of their global leadership;
For CAA to collaborate with other associations who share our values and objectives
