Myriam Stern

Myriam is a 2011 Chevening alumna from the Dominican Republic (DR); LLM in Intl Financial Law from King's College London. She worked as Comms Director at the British Embassy in the DR and Secretary General of the DR Development & Exports Bank. She's now the Director of Trade at the DR Embassy in the UK

Mahmoud Abdelrazek

A data consultant and a Chevening alumnus 2018 from Egypt with experience building databases and data pipelines for complex datasets. Worked with research on computer vision, geospatial, archeology, real estate and natural language processing among other domains.

About the CAA

Since 1983, Chevening Awards have enabled tens of thousands of international scholars and fellows to study in the UK. As of 2023, there are more than 50,000 alumni that make up the Chevening community. 

 

Based in the UK, the Chevening Alumni Alliance (CAA), is composed by a group of dynamic Chevening Alumni and it serves as a networking platform for the aforementioned Chevening Alumni community.  CAA membership is open to all Chevening Alumni in the UK, wherever they are based. The board members are all volunteers offering their professional services on a pro bono basis.

The CAA aims to keep the Chevening community active and connected. In that regard:

 

  • We aim to connect and coordinate initiatives with all the Chevening Alumni Associations worldwide, creating important opportunities between us.

  • We act as a channel between the country associations and the Chevening Secretariat, aligning our ideas into a clear vision as to what is Chevening alumni and its potential globally.

  • We continue to promote Chevening internationally via the numerous Chevening alumni that have joined the CAA and that come from different backgrounds, careers and Chevening years.

  • We develop projects to further enhance the Chevening brand and highlight the Chevening community’s success.

  • We host exclusive networking events for the Chevening Community, both in-person and on-line.

The CAA’s mission is to serve as a strategic international coordinating hub that INSPIRES, INFLUENCES, INNOVATES & LEADS the global Chevening Alumni leveraging their UK experience and networks.

 

We ADVOCATE:

  • For the Chevening Program, its importance and impact

  • For Cheveners, their knowledge and capabilities and impact of their global leadership;

  • For CAA to collaborate with other associations who share our values and objectives

 

We PROMOTE:

  • The Chevening Program in the UK and overseas

  • The Chevening Alumni worldwide

  • The CAA and the work we do

 

We FACILITATE:

  • Communication, exchange of information, participation and/or attendance of events.

 

We EMPOWER:

  • The Chevening Alumni

  • The Chevening Associations and networks, subnetworks and their work

  • Our community and society
